Prebuilt IRL Backpacks
A little more expensive, but a good value that comes with support.
Introduction
So there are a couple of popular prebuilt backpack setups I've seen. For a long time, I considered this route, before opting to build my own instead.
The GUNRUN IRL Backpack by UnlimitedIRL is the most popular prebuilt IRL Streaming backpack I've seen people use. It's also the most expensive, coming in at $2695 USD. Believe it or not, that's a very fair price for what you're getting.
It includes a LiveU Solo Pro, which supports up to 4 connections. It includes a Sony FDR-X3000 Action Cam, which is the most popular IRL Streaming camera (and Sony doesn't make it anymore). It includes a tripod, backpack mount, backpack, and battery as well at that price.
It does not include data plans, but you can purchase them directly from the same company. These plans will cost more than if you buy your own modems, and source your own connections, but there are benefits behind the increased price. For 2 modems, the cost is $450 dollars. After that, the price depends on your location, but for the US, the plan for 2 modems is $295/month. The main benefit for this package is that you can set one of the modems to automatically switch providers based on connection. By default they are both set this way, but only leave one set this way or they will both be on the same network all the time. You can also easily switch providers when you travel abroad, not having to deal with local data providers and instead with this company in most cases.
You'll also have to setup a streaming server, but again, if you have the budget, they'll basically do it all for you and guide you through the process. They recommend IRLToolkit, but you can check Streaming Servers for info on my suggestions.
The IRL Backpack by AntiScuff is conisderably cheaper, starting at $1250 USD. The main difference is that it is built with Belabox technology instead of a retail LiveU Solo Pro. It ships with the same camera provided with the GUNRUN IRL Backpack. I recommend contacting them if you're interested in this package for help and guidance placing your order.
