# TVU Go

## Pros and Cons:

**Pros:**

* **Free to Use:** though they rely heavily on their paid subscription model, you can use many of the features for free.
* **Free Connection Bonding**: TVU Go allows users to use Mobile Data and Wi-Fi Data at the same time in a process known as connection bonding. This makes it a real competitor to IRL Pro.
* **Supports PiP/Split Camera**, which lets you stream the front and back cameras at the same time. IRL Pro Alpha has this as well, but you have to go through a signup process and get manually approved to use it. It is also implimented much cleaner in TVU Go.
* **Supports UVC Cameras**, meaning you can use a USB camera as your camera with this app, **however it is behind the $69/month paywall**. This typically isn't a popular solution though because of power-related issues. You have to run the camera though the usb port on the phone, while also providing power to the phone or the stream will not last very long.
* Built in support for reading chat on popular platforms.
* Full custom web overlay support (Powerchat.live, Streamlabs, Etc).
* Setup is very straightfoward and much less confusing than IRL Pro to new streamers.

**Cons:**

* Really relies on a **paid subscription model**. For all the features it offers, it is currently $69/month, which is a lot for anyone, especially new IRL streamers. **You can use the app for free**, but even simple things like setting your bitrate are behind this paywall.
* No built in camera switching for rear cameras: If your phone has 2-5 cameras on the rear, it defaults to the wide angle camera and cannot be changed. Typically the wide angle camera looks fine, but most people want to be able to switch to the 1x camera for superior quality, better low light support, and support for third-party attachments.
* No SRT/SRTLA support.

## Bottom Line:

I personally will not be using this app because of the lack of SRT/SRTLA support and the inability to switch rear cameras as I use third-party lens attachments currently. If not for these two factors, I would try it out, but it would be a toss up between IRL Pro Alpha and TVU Go for me at that point. I couldn't see myself paying $69/month for the additional features.\
